The Housing Opportunity Program’s mission is to assist households in Chester County with finding and securing safe and affordable housing and to connect them with resources to promote housing stability. The overall goal is to reduce the occurrence of homelessness in our community. Since its inception in 2008, as the Housing Locator Program, the Housing Opportunity Program has provided housing search assistance and advisement, playing a pivotal role in helping often vulnerable individuals and families move into permanent housing. Our program works with clients throughout the entire housing search and rental process. Special consideration, attention, and care is taken to assist families or individuals experiencing homelessness and navigating our county’s homeless shelter system. A streamlined referral and intake process, housing search assistance, lease-up assistance, and case management for up to a full year, all allow this program to help individuals and families secure and maintain safe and affordable housing.
